MediaAcT Inauguration Workshop

Official kick-off meeting

About 30 researchers from 13 different countries will come together in the Erich Brost Institute for International Journalism at the University of Dortmund at the end of February 2010 for a kick-off meeting that will mark the official start of the MediaAcT project. The researchers will stay in Dortmund for four days in order to discuss questions of media accountability and innovations in media self-regulation - and to plan their research program for the coming 3 1/2 years. One of the main goals of the MediaAcT project is to develop policy recommendations for EU media lawmakers as well as incentives for media professionals and media users alike to actively engage in holding the media accountable.

The Inauguration Workshop starts on Thursday, February 18th, 2010, with a public panel discussion about the topic "Wild west in the WWW? The digital revolution as a problem of media ethics".
