Journalism in the digital age

A German newspaper research association (Verein zur Förderung der Zeitungsforschung) organizes a public conference at Dortmund. Media researchers from Dortmund, Münster and Stuttgart will talk about the challenges of journalism in the digital age.

MediaAcT member Tobias Eberwein will be one of the speakers on Friday, June 18th, 2010. He will talk about the current change of media self control. In the conference program, the question is raised: Is there a need for an online press council? Tobias Eberwein will try to give an answer on this question.

The other panelists of this conference also deal with topics related to MediaAcT. Klaus Meier from Dortmund University is going to talk about "transparency in journalism". Christian Nuernbergk (Münster) will highlight the potentials and chances of Web 2.0 for journalism.

The complete program of the conference is available online (in German).
